Step 1: Investigation
The purpose of this step is to gather information about the client’s company and industry, so that we may conceptualize a suitable navigation, look, and feel of the website to be developed. We will begin by meeting with the client, discussing the goals of the website. At this point, we will also go over any ideas, thoughts, or questions the client may have. Then, we will collect marketing resources to help us match the company’s individuality with the design and function of the website. Lastly, we will collect a list of other websites that the client admires, and go over any special needs, functions, or concerns regarding the development of the company’s online presence.
Step 2: Initial Composition
During this step we will begin the creation of the initial design and present it to the client, so that he/she may suggest any design changes to be made. The client’s input is the key to designing a quality, custom-made website that will display the look and feel of the company it is being created for. From the feedback provided by the client, we will re-vamp the design to match the client’s mental image of the website. This portion of the process will be continued until the satisfaction of the client is maximized.
Step 3: Development
Once the design is finalized, the images are separated and transferred to a directory on our servers, so that the client can keep track of our progress with a specific link. Navigation is made completely functional, images are optimized for quick loading time, certain portions of the site are standardized for site-wide updating, style sheets are generated, and if beneficial, directories are created for sub-navigation. These elements will allow us to update or enhance areas of the website without changing each page individually, saving time and money. The development step also includes forms, site searches, back-end management systems, or anything else specifically programmed for user and client interactivity.
Step 4: Implementation
During the implementation step, content is inserted into the website and all dynamics are finalized. The length of this step is determined by the amount of content that will be added. This phase includes adding alternative image tags (for rollover text) and meta tags (for search-ability).
Step 5: Site Launch
In the final stage of website development, we look over the site for any errors, both textual and functional. The site is then submitted to the client for final approval. Once approved, the website gets transferred from our working server, to a hosting server which will point the client’s domain name to the newly developed website. Normal Kings offers a variety of hosting options, based on the needs of the customer, for a competitive rate. If the client decides to host with us, one year of hosting is included with the website development free of charge.
Step 6: Analyze & Maintain
After we launch a new website, we wait a few weeks and monitor feedback from its owner and visitors. We anaylze traffic and monitor search engine listings. We tweak the website's keywords and links to ensure online success. Detailed analytics are available upon request. Whenever the client wants to see changes to his website, we maintain the site as necessary, while many of our websites allow our clients to manage their own content.
